Pope Francis has called for a “paradigm shift” in Catholic theology that takes widespread engagement with contemporary science, culture, and people’s lived experience as an essential starting point. This paradigm shift should have a fundamental change in approach or underlying assumptions.

Also, such a paradigm shift will give an importantly larger contribution to the viewpoint and experience of feminist theologians, in relation to female lived experience, and their role in the Church.
