I had the joy and privilege of having Regina Coll as a professor at Notre Dame when I was an undergraduate. I remember clearly that her class often met in the chapel of one of the dorms. I learned a lot from her -- about theology, about teaching and about life. She was also someone with a wonderful sense of humor. She had a huge impact on me and many, many students.

Regina was an important presence at Boston College and in the Association of Professors and Researchers in Religious Education in my graduate school and early postgraduate years. She was strong, accomplished, gracious and inspiring; she modeled prophetic Catholic feminism. Her writings were also extremely useful for developing effective church ministry. Blessings on her memory!

I had the privilege of learning from Regina when she taught the field education class during the first year of my M.Div. studies at Notre Dame. My M.Div. classmates and I still refer back to her sound advice about theological reflection and the need to stretch beyond one’s comfort zone. Her work in field education was a blessing to us.
