Human dignity is often understood as the foundational principle of Catholic Social Teaching. How do we know when we are acting in accord with human dignity? A number of key social issues turn on how we answer this question. For example, how is dignity consistent or not with 'just war' reasoning and just peace reasoning? What are the implications of this for Catholic Social Teaching and praxis?
